Peck Peck Dance
March 11 & 12, 2005 · 8pm
Peck Peck Dance Ensemble is the product of combined efforts by Sean McMahon
and Sarah Sass. They began working together at Ohio University (Athens) while
pursuing degrees in modern dance. While accomplishing the rigorous BFA degree
requirements, they both choreographed inside and out of class, working together
first on "Self-Vulcanizing Coagulant." Sean moved to the Bay Area
in 2000. Sarah followed shortly after in 2002. Peck Peck was formed as a vehicle
to develop and promote their creative work.
Our mission is to develop distinct
creative voices while playing with quirky movement amidst swirls of big dancing.
We aim to develop dance pieces that are slightly off kilter, while investigating
how our approaches to movement correlate to our daily lives. Currently they
are dancing with other local choreographers and working towards further developing
their collaborative relationship.
