Jon Sims laid a legacy of queer performance to San Francisco and we owe it to his memory to keep that vision alive.

Jon Sims Center for the Arts is still a unique institution in that the idea that LGBT art by and for the LGBT community is important and deserves to be supported.

Now that we have left 1615 Mission St, we need your support to create a new space open and accessible to the entire LGBT community at The Garage at 975 Howard St. Here JSC programs, including AIRspace are continuing.

The past years have been difficult ones for JSC, there have been many changes. Not just inside JSC but outside as well. Government and Foundation funding has decreased and Corporate sponsorship has changed direction to go towards other urgent social issues. For this reason we look more and more to individual supporters to help out in times of need.

We need your help. Make a donation now. You can donate by check or cash. Ask your friends and family to make a donation.

For any community to thrive, obtain equal rights, to develop and maintain
self worth that community must be able to contribute and help direct the
national dialog as well as participate fully in the story telling and myth
making that goes on in each and every society. Creating art and culture is
an important element in achieving those goals.
