A two-time award winner of the Entertainer of the Year Cable Car Award, this 18-piece band specializes in recreating the sounds of such big band greats as Basie, Ellington, Kenton and Glen Miller. Since its inception in 1984, City Swing's impressive list of credits has included performances at Herbst Theatre, Palace of Fine Arts, Beaux Arts Ball, Mayor Art Agnos' Inauguration, the Presidio Officers' Club, both the Folsom Street and the San Francisco Fairs, and at the Gay Games in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Gail Wilson is a long-time San Francisco favorite. A multi-talented vocalist, Ms. Wilson has performed for many lesbian/gay and AIDS charities both by herself and with City Swing. Ms. Wilson has been honored with many awards, including the prestigious George Moscone Award honoring non-gay people who have contributed much to the lesbian/gay community.
